With its ACE Electric Vehicle, Tata Motors has taken a step ahead by providing sustainable mobility for intracity cargo transportation.
Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has begun shipping its all-new Ace electric small commercial vehicle. The first Ace EV fleet was delivered on 9th January 2023 to Amazon, Delhivery, DHL (Express & Supply Chain), MoEVing, FedEx, Flipkart, Safexpress, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, and Trent Ltd, as well as their logistics service providers.
Ace EV mini truck is the first to use Tata Motors' Evogen powertrain, which provides a 154 kilometres certified range. It was unveiled in May 2022 after the completion of stringent real-world market trials. This electric vehicle comes with an all-weather battery, advanced battery cooling system, and regenerative brakes to boost its driving range. It claims to be the country’s most advanced four wheeler SCV with zero emissions.
Tata Ace EV facilitates a holistic solution for hassle-free e-cargo mobility as well as a five-year comprehensive maintenance package. Customers are providing an overwhelming response to its robust performance and 100% uptime. The eco-friendly SCV enables regular and fast charging for extended uptime. It becomes operated by a 27kW (36HP) motor with 130 NM maximum torque. This electric mini truck allows for a 208 cubic feet cargo volume for ensuring last-mile deliveries. The lightweight and durable materials help to make its body container that is perfect for e-commerce logistics. It has a 22% gradeability which allows for an easy ascending movement even when fully loaded.
The curated ecosystem supports this Ace EV. Its supporting ecosystem includes the deployment of charging infrastructure, the establishment of dedicated EV support centres for maximum fleet uptime, and Tata UniEVerse. Additionally, the deployment of the Tata Fleet Edge ensures the fleet management solution. Above all, they enable relevant eco-system for Tata Group companies and funding partnerships with the country's leading financiers.
While flagging off the first fleet of Tata Ace EVs, Executive Director of Tata Motors, Girish Wagh, cited, "The introduction of the Ace EVs on Indian roads marks a significant step forward in the journey towards zero-emission cargo mobility."
