VECV Jan 2024 Sales Records 4.48% Drop, Selling 5,327 Units

In January 2024, Eicher Trucks saw a 4.99% decrease in year-over-year sales, with 5,119 units sold of commercial vehicles.

VEVC, the joint venture between Volvo Trucks and Eicher Trucks, saw a significant 4.48% decline in commercial vehicle (CV) sales for January 2024, with a total of 5,327 units sold as opposed to 5,577 units in January 2023.

From January 2024 to January 2023, Eicher Trucks' sales of commercial vehicles decreased by 4.99% YoY. Domestic sales of Eicher vehicles for the brand saw a 7.21% decline, coming in at 4,863 units as opposed to 5,241 units in January 2023.

Segment-Wise Sales

The LMD (3.5-15T) segment sold 3,211 CV units in Jan 2024, which closed with 3,599 CV units in Jan 2023. It resulted in a 10.80% fall in sales.

In addition, the Heavy Duty segment grew by 0.60% in sales. This segment sold 1,652 units of CVs in January 2024, compared to 1,642 units last January.

The LMD segment of Export Eicher Truck sales data for Jan 2024 shows an increase of 120.00%. This segment completed sales of 242 CV units in January 2024, compared to 110 CV units in Jan 2023.

However, the HD or heavy-duty segment of the brand experienced a decrease in sales. The segment sold 14 units of CV in exports in Jan 2024, compared to 37 units in the same month last year. It resulted in a 62.20% fall in sales.

Overall, the Export Eicher Truck Sales statistics for Jan 2024 showed sales of 256 CV units, against 147 units in January 2023. The sales increased by 74.15% in January Y-o-Y.

Volvo Truck Performance

Volvo Trucks experienced an impressive 10.10% growth, selling 208 units in Jan 2024, up from 189 units in January 2023.

Overall, VECV, the joint venture between Volvo Trucks and Eicher Trucks, sold 5,327 CV units in Jan 2024. The brand recorded a decline of 4.48%, as the number of units sold in January 2023 was 5,577.
