Ashok Leyland Recorded Sales of 12,519 Commercial Vehicles in the Domestic Market
Ashok Leyland recently revealed its sales data for August 2024. The figures show a decrease of 8.18% in total sales across both domestic and export markets. Ashok Leyland recorded a decrease of 1116 CV in both domestic and export markets.

In August 2024, the company's domestic commercial vehicle sales declined by 9.81%, with 11,942 units sold as opposed to 13,241 units sold in August 2023. The number of export units sold was 394 units in August 2023, which increased to 577 units in August 2024, indicating a growth of 46.65%.

The M&HCV truck industry in August 2024 showed a decrease of 17%. It reported sales of 6,385 units, in contrast to 7,709 units in August 2023. Therefore, this CV producer experienced a decline in sales.
Furthermore, its Light Commercial Vehicle category experienced the same growth as the previous year, with a marginal increase. The brand sold 5,557 LCVs in August 2024, compared to 5,532 in August 2023. The total Ashok Leyland Domestic CV Sales Report segment sold 11,942 units in August 2024, compared to 13,241 units in August 2023.

According to the August 2024 Export CV Sales Statistics for Ashok Leyland, sales increased by 46.65%. In August 2024, 577 units were sold, more than the 394 units sold in August 2023.
Further, the LCV category reported sales of 243 units in August 2024, compared to 281 units in August 2023. The brand recorded a sales dip of 13.52% in this category.
However, the M&HCV category saw a sales growth of 195.58%. Under the M&HCV vehicles, the company sold 334 units in August 2024, compared to 113 units in August 2023.

In August 2024, Ashok Leyland witnessed an 8.18% decrease in gross CV sales, including a 14% decline in M&HCV categories and 0% growth in LCV.
For Gross Commercial Vehicle Sales, 12,519 units were recorded in August 2024, compared to 13,635 in August 2023. Additionally, under the M&HCV Truck category, 6,719 CVs were sold in August 2024, compared to 7,822 CVs in August 2023. Within the LCV category, 5,800 CVs were sold in August 2024, compared to 5,813 CVs in August 2023.
