FADA (FEDERATION OF AUTOMOBILE DEALERS ASSOCIATIONS) has released the sales data of commercial vehicle brands. The data showcases an overall growth of 7.58% in the Y-O-Y sales of May 2023. The total sales of this segment closed at 77,135 units in May 2023, up from 71,964 units in May 2022. Tata Motors stayed at the top of the table with sales of 26,419 units. On the other hand, Daimler registered a growth of 51.47% in FADA May 2023 sales.
Commenting on May 2023 performance, FADA President Mr. Manish Raj Singhania stated, "The Commercial Vehicle segment experienced sustained growth, underpinned by the government's focus on infrastructure development. The bus segment displayed a notable increase, driven by improved financing options and higher sales in academic institutions."

Tata Motors again ends the month with the highest CV sales in the FADA commercial Vehicle Sales report. The brand sold 26,419 units of CVs in May 2023, whereas the units sold in May 2022 were 29,173. As a result, the brand's sales decreased by -9.44%.
Mahindra & Mahindra also stays in the top 2 positions of best CV makers in India. Mahindra & Mahindra created a growth of 9.95% in May 2023 sales. The brand ends the month with 17,192 units which were 15,636 units in May 2022.
Ashok Leyland is one of the flagship firms of the Hinduja Group. The company registered a growth of 21.24% in FADA CV retail sales. They sold 13,807 vehicles in May 2023, which was closed with 11,388 units in May 2022.
VECV, the joint venture of Volvo Trucks India and Eicher Truck & Bus. The venture experienced growth of 45.48% in the May 2023 Y-O-Y sales. In May 2023, they sold 7,040 units of commercial vehicles, which was closed with 4,839 units in the same month last year.
The commercial vehicle sales of Maruti Suzuki registered a growth in this FADA sales. The brand sold 3,466 units of commercial vehicles, with an increase of 9.48% against the 3,166 units sold in May 2022.
The BharatBenz Trucks sold 1,807 units of commercial vehicles in the FADA sales report of May 2023. In May last year, the brand sold 1,193 CV units. As a result, Daimler has created a growth of 51.47% in May Y-O-Y sales.
SML Isuzu also gets a positive site in the FADA May sales report. The brand sold 1,212 units of Commercial Vehicles in May 2023, whereas in May 2022, SML Isuzu sold 867 units. It experienced a growth of 39.79%.
Force Motors Limited sold 1,188 units of Commercial Vehicles in the FADA May 2023 sales report. In the same month last year, the brand sold 1,172 units. With this data, the brand increased its sales by 1.37%.
All the other brands of the CV segment sold 5,004 units in May 2023, with an increase of 10.46% against the 4,530 units sold in May 2022.
