On August 14, 2024, Greaves Electric Mobility made history by setting a new record with their Eltra City electric three-wheeler. The India Book of Records recognized this groundbreaking achievement for completing a remarkable 225 km journey on a single charge. The ride, named the “Eltra City Freedom Ride”, took place from Bangalore to Mysore. Truck Junction recorded the entire journey, capturing this historic event that showcased the durability and endurance of the Eltra City.
Greaves Electric Mobility's Eltra City became the first Indian electric three-wheeler to achieve the longest ride of 225 km on a single charge. Starting in Bangalore, the vehicle travelled all the way to Mysore, passing by many famous landmarks along the way. These included Vidhan Soudha, HAL Ajeet on Cubbon Road, and Tipu Sultan’s mausoleum, among others.
This accomplishment not only highlights the impressive capabilities of Eltra City. It also establishes the vehicle as the highest-range Indian electric three-wheeler on the market today.
The Eltra City Freedom Ride was planned as a unique way to celebrate India’s Independence Day. Greaves Electric Mobility used this opportunity to emphasize independence from fossil fuels and economic restrictions. The ride concluded at Freedom Fighter’s Park in Mysore, just one day before the country’s 78th Independence Day celebration. Through this remarkable feat, Eltra City cemented its status as a leading electric vehicle (EV) in India.
The Eltra City is designed to deliver excellent performance, equipped with a powerful 10.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 9.6 kW motor. This combination allows it to travel long distances effortlessly. The vehicle also boasts a payload capacity of 528 kg, peak torque of 49 Nm, and 14-degree gradability, making it ideal for urban environments with challenging terrain. The hill hold assist feature ensures a smooth driving experience even on steep roads.
In addition to its impressive range, the Eltra City is built for reliability. It offers minimal maintenance costs, high fleet uptime, and, most importantly, zero emissions. This makes it not only cost-effective but also an environmentally friendly transportation solution.
