Tata Motors Reports Selling 27,207 Commercial Vehicles in August 2024
Tata Motors revealed its sales figures for August 2024, showing a decline in commercial vehicle sales. The total sales decreased by 15.00%, with 27,207 units sold in August 2024 compared to 32,077 units the previous year.
However, the brand's passenger carriers performed well in the past month, growing by 14.00% and becoming the top performers.
Tata Motors, a leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, disclosed that its domestic commercial vehicle sales fell by 16.00%. In August 2023, 30,748 commercial vehicles were sold, but the number dropped to 25,864 units in August 2024.
Overall, commercial vehicle sales decreased by 15.00%, from 32,077 units in August 2023 to 27,207 units in August 2024.

Tata Motors' HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) category saw a 21% loss in August 2024 sales. The brand sold 7,116 units last month, compared to 9,000 units in August 2023.
ILMCV Category (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):
The sales of Tata Motors' ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles) segment recorded a slight 5.00% decrease in August 2024. The brand had 4,965 sales units in August 2024, compared to 5,207 in August 2023.
Passenger Carriers (PC) Category:
The brand's Passenger Carrier section has become a constant gainer. Tata Motors sold 3,410 passenger carrier units in August 2024, compared to 2,986 in August 2023. As a result, the sales numbers surged by 14.00%.
SCV Cargo and Pickup:
Tata has a good market share in the small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup segment. Furthermore, the brand experienced a 23.00% sales loss in August 2024. In August 2023, the brand sold 13,555 units of SCV and Pickup, which decreased to 10,373 units in August 2024.
CV Exports:
The brand's export sales performance increased by 1.00% in August 2024. The brand sold 1,329 units of CV in August 2023, which inclined to 1,343 units in August 2024.
