Eicher Commercial Vehicle Sales Grow 36.2% in October 2026

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), the joint venture between Volvo Trucks and Eicher Trucks, reported total commercial vehicle sales of 10,861 units in October 2026. This represents a 34.9% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 8,050 units sold in October 2025. The growth was supported by strong domestic demand for Eicher trucks and a rebound in exports, while Volvo Trucks recorded a marginal decline during the month.

Eicher Trucks and Buses Continue Growth Momentum

Eicher Trucks and Buses, inclusive of EVs, recorded 10,587 units in October 2026, registering 36.2% YoY growth over 7,771 units sold in October 2025. The increase was driven by strong demand across the light, medium and heavy-duty truck segments in the domestic market.

Domestic Sales Performance

In the domestic market, Eicher recorded sales of 9,676 units in October 2026, marking a 36.9% increase compared to 7,070 units sold in October 2025.

Segment-wise domestic performance includes:

SCV/LMD Trucks (<18.5T): 6,053 units sold vs 4,241 units last year, registering 42.7% growth.
Heavy Duty Trucks (≥18.5T): 2,719 units sold vs 1,876 units, recording 44.9% growth.
LMD Buses: 826 units sold compared to 842 units, reflecting a 1.9% decline.
HD Buses: 78 units sold against 111 units last year, registering a 29.7% decline.

The domestic business continued to deliver strong growth, led by higher demand for SCV/LMD and heavy-duty trucks.

Export Sales Performance in October 2026

VECV’s export sales stood at 911 units in October 2026, compared to 701 units in October 2025, registering a 30.0% year-on-year growth.

Segment-wise export performance includes:

SCV/LMD Exports: 314 units vs 407 units, down 22.9%.
Heavy Duty Exports: 196 units vs 78 units, up 151.3%.
Bus Exports: 401 units vs 216 units, up 85.6%.

While SCV/LMD exports declined, strong growth in heavy-duty and bus exports drove VECV’s overall export sales higher.

Volvo Trucks Sales in October 2026

Volvo Trucks and Buses reported sales of 274 units in October 2026, compared to 279 units in the same month last year, registering a 1.8% YoY decline.

The premium truck brand saw a slight dip in India’s commercial vehicle market, though Eicher’s strong performance more than made up for it in VECV’s overall sales.

VECV Maintains Strong Sales Growth

With total sales of 10,861 commercial vehicles in October 2026, VECV maintained its strong growth momentum. Robust domestic demand for Eicher Trucks and Buses, along with a sharp rise in exports, helped offset the marginal decline in Volvo Trucks sales.

The company recorded 34.9% YoY growth in overall commercial vehicle sales during October 2026, with domestic Eicher sales increasing 36.9%.
