Ashok Leyland, the leading producer of commercial vehicles in India, recently released its sales data for the month of May. The data indicates a 6.03% rise in total sales across both domestic and export markets.

In May 2024, the company's sales of commercial vehicles increased by 4.49%, with 11,436 units sold compared to 11,949 units sold domestically. Notably, the number of export units sold increased by 65.64% from May 2023 to May 2024, with 270 units sold as opposed to 163 units in the previous year.

The M&HCV truck industry in May 2024 showed an increase of 1%. It reported sales of 6,648 units, in contrast to 6,573 units in May 2023. Therefore, this CV producer experienced a rise in sales.

Furthermore, its LCV category again experienced an 11% rise in sales. The brand sold 5301 LCVs in May 2024, compared to 4,788 in May 2023. The Total Ashok Leyland Domestic CV Sales Report segment sold 11,949 units in May 2024, compared to 11,436 units in May 2023.
