FADA CV Retail Sales Reached 83,059 Units in May 2024

FADA Commercial Vehicle Retail Sales Witnessed a Significant 4.07% Increase in May 2024

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released the sales figures for commercial vehicles in May 2024. FORCE MOTORS LIMITED, a well-known Indian company owned by Firodia Enterprise, saw a 32.79% increase in sales compared to last year.

According to FADA's truck sales report, leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturers showed positive growth. Truck sales rose to 83,059 units in May 2024, up from 79,807 units in May 2023, marking a 4.07% growth.

Official Statement of FADA

FADA President Mr. Manish Raj Singhania commented on May 2024's auto retail performance, stating, “In May 2024, the Indian Auto Retail sector achieved a modest 2.61% YoY growth. The two-wheeler (2W), three wheeler (3W) and commercial vehicle (CV) segments grew by 2.5%, 20% and 4%, while passenger vehicle (PV) and tractor (Trac) were in red by 1% each YoY.

Brand-Wise Commercial Vehicles Sales Data

Here, we have segregated the section according to brand-wise sales. 

Tata Motors

Tata Motors is India's largest commercial vehicle producer. In May 2024, the brand's sales increased by 9.14%. They sold 29,383 CVs, compared to 26,923 in May 2023.  

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra Trucks sold 19,855 commercial vehicles in May 2024. In comparison, the brand closed the same month last year with 17,247 units. As a result, the brand grew by 15.12% in May YOY sales. 

Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland ended May 2024 with a sales loss of 6.86%. The brand sold 14,514 CVs in May last year, which decreased to 13,518 units this year.

VECV

VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Trucks India and Eicher Trucks. In May 2024, they sold 6,559 CV units, which closed at 7,231 units in May 2023, resulting in a sales loss of 9.29%.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki experienced a fall of 4.50% in May 2024. They sold 3,350 units in May 2024, while they closed with 3,508 in May 2023.

Daimler

Daimler India, or BharatBenz Trucks, sold 1,830 CV in May 2024, compared to 1,823 units in May 2023. As a result, it registered a gain of 0.38%. 

Force Motors Limited

This is yet another popular commercial vehicle manufacturer in India. Force Motors closed in May 2024 with a maximum sales growth of 32.79%. It sold 1,616 units this May, compared to 1,217 last year.

SML Isuzu

SML Isuzu recorded an increase of 7.91% in May 2024. The brand sold 1,310 units of CVs in May 2024, outnumbering the 1,214 units sold in May last year. 

Others

All the other brands contributed 5,638 CV units in May this year, compared to 6,130 units in May 2023. This resulted in a sales loss of 8.03%.
