FADA Reports 9.50% Increase in Combined CV Sales for May 2024

Three-Wheeler Segment achieved 20.09% Growth in May 2024, with 98,265 Units Sold.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has shared the latest sales figures for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three wheelers. In May 2024, combined CV sales reached 264,383 units, a 9.50% increase from 241,439 units sold in May 2023.

Commercial vehicle sales rose 4.07% to 83,059 units in May 2024, compared to 79,807 units in the same period last year. The three-wheeler market experienced a significant boost, with sales growing by 20.09% to 98,265 units in May 2024, up from 81,825 units in May 2023.

FADA Retail Sales Report by Segment - Three-Wheeler

E-RICKSHAW (P)

Under the E Rickshaw segment, retail sales growth of 7.92% was observed in May 2024. The brand sold 39,505 units in May 2024, compared to 36,607 in May 2023.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)

This segment saw a 76.90% increase in retail sales in May 2024. The E-Rickshaw category sold 5,530 units in May 2024, compared to 3,126 in May 2023.

THREE WHEELER (GOODS)

The 3-wheeler segment's May 2024 sales figure significantly increased by 20.53%. It sold 9,927 units in May 2024, compared to 8,236 in May 2023.

THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)

This passenger vehicle segment registered a major retail sales growth of 27.91% in May 2024. The segment sold 43,224 units in May 2024, compared to 33,792 in May 2023.

THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)

The personal three-wheeler saw a 23.44% rise in retail sales in May 2024. The segment sold 64 units in May 2023, which increased to 79 in May 2024.

FADA Retail Sales Report by Segment - Commercial Vehicles (CV)

The commercial vehicle segment has also been segregated according to LCV, MCV, HCV, and others. The following are the complete CV sales figures.

LCV

The LCV segment experienced a 7.94% increase in retail sales in May 2024. The segment closed with 45,712 units in May 2024, compared to 42,351 units in May 2023.

MCV

The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 6,871 units in May 2024, compared to 6,229 units in May 2023. As a result, the MCV segment experienced a growth rate of 10.31%.

HCV

In May 2024, retail sales in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment decreased slightly by 3.23%. During this period, 26,306 units were sold, compared to 27,184 in May 2023.

Others

All other remaining segments of the CV category ended in May 2024, with sales of 4,170 units. In May 2023, it sold 4,043 units, which resulted in sales growth of 3.14%.
