FADA's Combined CV Sales Soar by 12.68% in December 2023

In December 2023, there was a significant surge in sales within the three-wheeler category, marking a 36.40% increase with a total of 95,449 units sold.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) revealed sales figures for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three-wheelers during this period. Combined CV sales in December 2023 reached 243,241 units, showing a 12.68% growth from the 215,864 units sold in December 2022.

While the CV segment experienced a marginal 1.31% increase, selling 73,896 units in December 2023 compared to 72,944 units the previous year, the three-wheeler segment notably boosted sales. It sold 95,449 units in December 2023, compared to 69,976 units in December 2022, reflecting a remarkable 36.40% growth rate.

E-RICKSHAW (P)

Under the E-Rickshaw segment, a sales growth of 45.81% in retail was observed in Dec 2023. The brand sold 45,108 units in December 2023, compared to 30,936 in December 2022.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)

This segment saw an 87.68% hike in its retail sales for Dec 2023. The E-Rickshaw category sold 3,688 units in December 2023, compared to 1,965 in December 2022.

THREE WHEELER (GOODS)

The 3-wheeler segment observed a slight growth of 15.87% in its Dec 2023 sales figure. It sold 9,048 units in Dec 2023, compared to 7,809 in December 2022.

THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)

This passenger vehicle segment registered a major retail sales growth of 28.39% in Dec 2023. The segment sold 37,522 units in Dec 2023, compared to 29,225 in December 2022.

THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)

The personal three-wheeler saw a 102.44% sales rise in its retail sales in December 2023. The segment sold 41 units in Dec 2022, which increased to 83 in December 2023.

LCV

The LCV segment experienced a slight decline of 2.61% in its retail sales for December 2023. In Dec 2023, the segment closed with 41,804 units, compared to 42,925 units in Dec 2022.

MCV

The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 4,808 units in Dec 2023, compared to 4,305 units in December 2022. As a result, the MCV segment experienced growth of 11.68%.

HCV

Under the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment, there was a slight sales growth of 0.89% in retail sales in Dec 2023. In this period, it sold 23,050 units in Dec 2023, compared to 22,847 in December 2022.

Others

All other remaining segments of the CV category ended in December 2023, with sales of 4,234 units. In December 2022, it sold 2,867 units. As a result, the segment saw sales growth of 47.68%.
