FADA Reports a 23.7% Decrease in Combined CV Sales for October 2023

In October 2023, the three-wheeler segment experienced a notable upswing, with sales surging by 45.63%. During this period, a total of 1,04,711 three-wheelers were sold.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) released the CVs and three-wheelers sales figures of October 2023. According to the sales report, the combined sales of commercial vehicles (CV) in Oct 23 stood at 1,77,398. This marked a 23.7% decline compared to October 2022, when the combined CV sales reached 2,32,795 units.

Nonetheless, the CV segment closed the month with a growth rate of 10.26%, selling 88,699 units in October 2023, compared to 80,446 units in October 2022.

On the other hand, the 3-wheeler segment sold 1,04,711 units in October 2023, compared to 71,903 units last October. This resulted in a 45.63% sales growth.

FADA Sales Report by Segment - Three-Wheeler

E-RICKSHAW (P)

Under the E-Rickshaw segment, a sales growth of 44.67% in retail was observed in Oct 2023. The brand sold 45,734 units in October 2023, compared to 31,613 in Oct 2022.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)

This segment saw a 49.36% hike in its retail sales for Oct 2023. The E-Rickshaw category sold 3,023 units in October 2023, compared to 2,024 in Oct 2022.

THREE WHEELER (GOODS)

The 3-wheeler segment observed a slight growth of 36.61% in its Oct 2023 sales figure. Its sold units were 10,067 in Oct 2023, compared to 7,369 in October 2022.

THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)

This passenger vehicle segment registered a major retail sales growth of 48.50% in Oct 2023. The segment sold 45,814 units in Oct 2023, compared to 30,852 in October 2022.

THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)

The personal three-wheeler saw a 62.22% sales rise in its retail sales in Oct 2023. The segment sold 45 units in Oct 2022, which increased to 73 in October 2023.

The Commercial Vehicle segment has also been segregated according to LCV. MCV, HCV, and others. Following are the complete sales of the CV segment.

LCV

The LCV segment experienced a slight increase of 1.25% in its retail sales for October 2023. In Oct 2023, the segment closed with 49,666 units, against the 49,053 units in Oct 2022.

MCV

The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 5,980 units in Oct 2023, compared to 4,792 units in October 2022. As a result, the MCV segment experienced growth of 24.79%.

HCV

Under the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment, there was a slight sales growth of 19.09% in retail sales in Oct 2023. In this period, it sold 28,940 units in Oct 2023, compared to 24,300 in October 2022.

Others

All other remaining segments of the CV category ended in October 2023 with sales of 4,113 units. In October 2022, it sold 2,301 units. The segment as a result, saw a sales growth of 78.75%.
