FADA Navratri 2026: 3-Wheeler Sales Fall 7.51%, CV Sales Rise 1.12%

21 October 2026, New Delhi: Three-wheeler retail sales declined 7.51% year-on-year to 45,735 units during Navratri 2026, while commercial vehicle (CV) sales increased 1.12% to 35,618 units, according to provisional data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).

Electric vehicle (EV) retail sales recorded growth in both segments. Electric three-wheeler sales rose 10.51% to 28,086 units, while electric commercial vehicle sales increased 96.04% to 1,288 units compared with Navratri 2025.

Compared with Navratri 2024, three-wheeler and commercial vehicle retail sales increased by 19.04% and 16.47%, respectively.

FADA President Mr. Sai Giridhar said Navratri 2026 covered ten days, compared with eleven days in 2025. He added that last year's festive period coincided with the GST 2.0 rollout, which brought pent-up demand into a concentrated buying window. He described the overall retail performance as healthy and expressed cautious optimism ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali.

Electric three-wheeler sales increased by 2,670 units year-on-year, while electric commercial vehicle sales rose by 631 units. Compared with Navratri 2024, sales grew by 39.32% and 341.10%, respectively.

FADA said EV retail sales accounted for a growing share of festive vehicle purchases, with overall EV retail growth reaching 26.78% across vehicle categories.
