Tata Motors Partners With Drivn to Boost Electric Commercial Vehicle Adoption

Mumbai, 20 August 2026: Drivn has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors to offer leasing and financing solutions for electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in India. The partnership aims to make electric trucks easier to access for fleet operators.

Under the partnership, Drivn will offer customised leasing plans for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle range. These plans will help fleet operators reduce the need for high upfront investment and make the shift to electric vehicles simpler.

In addition, the partnership will focus on making electric fleet operations easier by bringing together vehicle leasing, financing, charging support and fleet management.

Drivn Plans to Deploy Over 1,000 Electric Trucks

Drivn focuses on leasing solutions for commercial fleets. The company works with fleet operators to address key challenges linked to electric vehicle adoption, including financing, vehicle deployment and charging infrastructure.

According to the company, the partnership with Tata Motors will help it create a more practical way for operators to add electric trucks to their fleets. Perhaps most importantly, Drivn plans to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years through this partnership.

Manav Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Drivn, said, “Making electric fleets commercially viable is key to driving adoption at scale. While there is growing interest from operators, the shift ultimately depends on how practical and accessible these solutions are. Partnering with Tata Motors allows us to combine a strong vehicle portfolio with our leasing model, addressing key barriers such as upfront costs and deployment timelines. Through this partnership, we intend to deploy over 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years, offering fleet operators a clearer and more scalable path to electrification while contributing to the broader growth of the EV ecosystem in India.”

Tata Motors to Support Fleet Electrification

Tata Motors continues to expand its electric commercial vehicle portfolio as demand for cleaner transport solutions grows. The company offers electric vehicles for different commercial applications and works with fleet operators on areas such as vehicle performance, uptime, charging and financing.

Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Ltd., said, “Tata Motors is committed to democratising clean mobility and accelerating India’s transition towards sustainable transportation. Together with Drivn, we aim to make electric trucks more accessible to our customers. Our electric trucks portfolio has been engineered to deliver performance, reliability and operating economics that meet the evolving needs of our customers, while helping them confidently transition to zero-emission technologies.”

However, financing remains an important factor for fleet operators considering electric trucks. Therefore, the leasing model can help operators manage their initial investment while adding EVs to their fleets.

Partnership Covers Electric Trucks From 7 to 55 Tonnes

Tata Motors has recently introduced a new range of electric trucks under its Tata Trucks.ev brand. The range covers trucks from 7 to 55 tonnes and uses the new I-MOEV (Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle) Architecture.

These trucks target several applications, including e-commerce deliveries, construction material transport and port operations. Moreover, Tata Trucks supports its electric CV range with charging infrastructure and a nationwide service network.

Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Drivn, said, “Electric fleet adoption scales when the right ecosystem comes together for support. With Tata Motors’ strong market presence, fleet operators gain trust and access as we are getting the elements of maintenance of vehicles, uptime as a joint commitment from OEM and combining technology to monitor efficiencies.”

Overall, the partnership aims to remove key barriers to electric truck adoption. With leasing, financing, vehicle support and charging solutions working together, Drivn and Tata Motors plan to give fleet operators a simpler route towards electric mobility in India.
