These new trucks are equipped with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance System and many more features.
One of India's most prominent commercial automobile brands, Tata Motors, has disclosed new trucks in the M&HCV segment. These trucks are the first in-segment with a CNG-based engine; till now, all brands have been manufacturing vehicles in the small category. The new vehicles are equipped with a 5.7-litre engine that can generate 180 HP and 650 NM of torque and provides a driving range of 500 to 1000 KM.
Taking a step ahead, the company has launched these trucks with a 19-tonne and 28-tonne range with many outstanding features. These trucks are fitted with an Advanced Driver Assistance System(ADAS) which offers Collision Mitigation System, Lane Departure Monitoring System and Driver Monitoring System. Tata has launched these trucks under its most popular Prima, Signa and Ultra range. In addition, the company has also launched a series of advanced Intermediate & Light Commercial Vehicles. However, the brand has not revealed the price of all these vehicles.
Tata has successfully implemented the Zero Emission scheme on the vehicles and created cleaner mobility driving. But on the other hand, Tata Motors is also inclined toward finding new fuel options. Liquified Natural Gas(LNG), Hydrogen and Bio-CNG are the different ways the brand looks toward the zero-emission mission.
Speaking at the event, Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said, "The trucks that we are launching today address the growing need for safer transportation with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) offering collision mitigation system, lane departure warning, electronic stability control, driver alerts, and tyre pressure monitoring. They also provide cleaner mobility solutions with a richer offering of alternate fuel powertrains. We continue to redefine transportation by 'Delivering Progress' to our customers, their drivers, the shippers, and our country by making the logistics chain more efficient."
Tata Motors lost 2.5% of the market share in the June quarter, from 45% to 42.5%. Also, the M&HCV sector went down 2%. On the market loss, Wagh said, "We want to grow profitably." The company is looking to meet the objective through a combination of actions, including introducing a product range that adds more value to the customer and offers value-added services using digital solutions like the "Fleet Edge ", which helps track vehicle and driver behaviour, and improves fuel efficiency. A combination of all this and a retail-focussed approach that includes creating a pull-based approach for products and services, instead of the traditional push approach, will help the company grow profitably".
