Three-Wheeler Sales in April 2025 Rise by 24.51%
According to the latest data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), three-wheeler retail sales in India stood at 99,766 units in April 2025, a 24.51% increase from 80,127 units sold in April 2024. This robust growth underlines the segment’s strong recovery, driven by rising demand for last-mile mobility and sustained electric vehicle penetration across urban and semi-urban markets.
3-Wheeler Sales Performance Across Major Brands
The April figures reflect strong upward momentum, with most key players recording impressive year-on-year growth. Notably, Mahindra Group, TVS Motors, Atul Auto, and Y.C. Electric posted significant gains. However, Mayuri reported a marginal decline.
Brand-Wise 3-Wheeler Sales Report for April 2025
Bajaj
Bajaj Auto retained its leadership position in April 2025 with 32,638 units sold, registering a 9.03% growth over 29,934 units in April 2024. The positive trajectory reflects the brand’s stable performance in both ICE and alternative fuel categories.
Mahindra & Mahindra Group
The Mahindra Group posted an impressive 64.78% year-on-year surge with 6,278 units in April 2025, up from 3,810 units last year. The group’s performance is split across two entities:
- Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd recorded 6,260 units, a significant jump from 3,638 units in April 2024. This reflects rising demand for its electric and commercial offerings in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
- Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, however, sold only 18 units, a steep drop from 172 units, indicating a continued decline in its ICE portfolio.
Piaggio
Piaggio sold 6,355 units in April 2025, showing a moderate 7.86% increase over 5,892 units sold in April 2024. The growth highlights the brand’s steady positioning in the goods carrier and electric segments.
Y.C. Electric
Y.C. Electric saw healthy double-digit growth of 14.49%, with 3,365 units retailed in April 2025 compared to 2,939 units in April 2024. The brand continues to perform well in affordable passenger e-rickshaw markets.
Atul Auto
Atul Auto registered 2,015 units, rising 14.23% from 1,764 units a year ago. The company’s expanding portfolio in the electric and cargo three-wheeler space is paying dividends.
TVS Motors
TVS Motors delivered a standout performance in April 2025, clocking 3,148 units, nearly doubling its previous year’s figure of 1,588 units. The 98.24% growth signals the brand’s aggressive push in both passenger and goods segments.
Mayuri
Mayuri faced a minor setback with 1,795 units sold in April 2025, a drop of 8.74% from 1,967 units in April 2024. Increased competition and changing buyer preferences may be influencing the decline.
Citylife
Citylife posted a stable 9.06% growth with 1,758 units sold in April 2025 versus 1,612 units in April 2024. The brand continues to strengthen its presence in the urban electric passenger space.
Others Including EVs See Strong Growth
The ‘Others Including EV’ category surged by 38.51%, recording 42,414 units in April 2025 compared to 30,621 units last year. This group includes emerging OEMs and regional electric players, many of which continue to scale due to increasing demand for affordable and efficient electric mobility options across rural and semi-urban belts.
