Switch Automotive Mobility has announced a leadership change. Mahesh Babu, the current CEO, will step down from his role on August 31, 2025. Starting from September 1, 2025, Ganesh Mani, who is the Chief Operating Officer at Ashok Leyland, will take over as the new CEO of Switch Automotive Mobility.
This change supports Switch India’s long-term plan to reduce operating costs and grow its electric vehicle (EV) business. The company is focusing more on electric city buses and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), which are gaining demand in India. Moreover, this decision comes after Switch India achieved EBITDA breakeven in FY25, a sign of strong financial progress.
Dheeraj G Hinduja, Chairman of Switch Mobility, thanked Mahesh Babu for his valuable work. He added that the company is now ready to grow even faster and soon reach positive profit after tax (PAT). He believes Ganesh Mani, with his experience in running operations and leading big changes, will take the company forward.
Switch India is also introducing new electric vehicles like the 1.25-ton IeV3 and 1.75-ton IeV4 through select Ashok Leyland LCV dealers. In addition, their 12-meter electric buses can travel up to 200 km without recharging. The company aims to double its revenue in FY26 by focusing more on these EVs.
