Gateway Distriparks Deploys Blue Energy Motors Electric Trucks for Freight Operations

Gurugram, Haryana: 2 September 2026: Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) has deployed Blue Energy Motors’ electric heavy-duty trucks for commercial freight operations. The company flagged off the electric trucks at its ICD Garhi Harsaru facility in Gurugram ahead of World EV Day.

The new electric trucks will support first- and last-mile freight movement within Gateway Distriparks’ transportation network. In addition, the deployment highlights the growing use of electric heavy-duty trucks in India’s logistics sector.

Gateway Distriparks, one of India’s leading multimodal logistics service providers, aims to use cleaner transport solutions while maintaining the efficiency and reliability of its freight operations. Perhaps, this move also shows how fleet operators are exploring electric trucks for real-world commercial use.

Electric Trucks Enter Commercial Freight Operations

Blue Energy Motors has developed its electric heavy-duty trucks for demanding freight applications. The trucks use advanced battery technology and intelligent vehicle management systems to support daily logistics operations.

In addition, Blue Energy Motors provides a service support network for these electric trucks. This helps fleet operators manage their vehicles and maintain regular freight operations.

Gateway Distriparks will use the trucks for container logistics and first- and last-mile connectivity. However, the company will need to balance charging needs, route planning and vehicle usage to maintain smooth operations.

Mr. Samvid Gupta, Joint Managing Director, Gateway Distriparks Limited, said, "Sustainability is an increasingly important priority across supply chains, and we are committed to adopting solutions that support our environmental goals while maintaining the reliability and efficiency our customers expect. The deployment of electric trailers marks an important step in this journey. With the support of Blue Energy Motors and its charging ecosystem, Gateway Distriparks has deployed electric trailers for first and last mile connectivity, demonstrating the growing viability of electric trailers in container logistics. This initiative reflects our commitment to building a more sustainable logistics ecosystem while continuing to deliver operational excellence".

Blue Energy Motors Highlights Real-World EV Use

The deployment adds to Blue Energy Motors’ growing presence in India’s electric freight market. The company’s electric heavy-duty trucks have already travelled on the Mumbai–Delhi NCR corridor.

This experience allows the company to test electric trucks on a major freight route and understand their performance in daily operations. Moreover, such deployments can help fleet operators assess the practical use of electric trucks for commercial transport.

Commenting on the deployment, Mr. Anand Mimani, CEO – EV & New Energy, Blue Energy Motors, said, “We are pleased to partner with Gateway Distriparks in deploying our electric trucks for commercial logistics operations. The transition to electric mobility in heavy-duty transportation will be driven by solutions that can demonstrate performance, reliability and operational viability in real-world applications. Deployments such as this allow us to work closely with fleet operators, understand their requirements and support the practical adoption of electric trucks across freight operations.”

Blue Energy Motors Crosses 122 Million Green Kilometres

Blue Energy Motors says more than 1,400 green heavy-duty trucks currently operate across key freight routes in India. Together, these trucks have covered more than 122 million green kilometres on Indian roads.

The company also states that its trucks have helped reduce more than 33,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. This equals the carbon absorption of nearly 1.3 million trees, according to the company.

In addition, Blue Energy Motors continues to expand its heavy-duty vehicle portfolio with LNG and electric trucks. The company positions itself as India’s No. 1 Green Truck Brand.

Electric Trucks Gain Ground in Indian Logistics

India’s logistics sector continues to look for cleaner and more efficient ways to move goods. As a result, electric heavy-duty trucks are gaining attention for commercial freight operations.

However, large-scale adoption will depend on factors such as charging infrastructure, route requirements, vehicle uptime and operating costs. Therefore, partnerships between fleet operators and electric truck makers can play an important role in testing and expanding electric freight solutions.

The Gateway Distriparks deployment marks another step in this transition. With electric trucks now entering active freight operations, the partnership between Gateway Distriparks and Blue Energy Motors adds to the growing push for cleaner road-based logistics in India.
