Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Targets 2–3X EV Growth by 2030

Strong Growth Achieved in Five Years

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), a well-known auto company based in Mumbai, is speeding up its electric vehicle (EV) plans. Its Last Mile Mobility unit has already seen a big rise in EV sales. The company sold 14,000 electric vehicles in FY20. This number grew sharply to 78,000 units in FY25.

Now, M&M wants to take this even further. The company plans to grow EV sales by two to three times by the financial year 2030. Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director at M&M, said, “We have already grown from 14,000 to 78,000 units. That is strong growth. Our target is to multiply this number by two or three times in the next five years.”

Treo and Zor Grand Lead the EV Segment

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) is leading the way in the L5 electric vehicle category. Its well-known electric models like Treo and Zor Grand have played a big role in this. As a result, the EV share in the L5 segment grew to 24.2% in FY25. This is a big jump from 16.9% in FY24.

This shows that more people are choosing EVs for short-distance travel, especially for first- and last-mile transport.

New EV Models Expand the Line-Up

In FY25, MLMML added more products to its range. It launched a Treo with a metal body and also introduced the Mahindra ZEO, a four-wheeler electric small commercial vehicle (SCV). This is the company’s first step into the electric four-wheeler cargo space.

With this, Mahindra now offers a full range of last-mile vehicles. These include electric, petrol, diesel, and CNG options. The line-up covers both three-wheeler and four-wheeler models for passenger and goods movement.

Focus on First and Last-Mile Connectivity

Mahindra’s EV push is mainly aimed at making transport easier and cleaner in short-distance areas. With growing demand and more choices, the company plans to become a strong player in the electric mobility space by 2030.
