Tata Motors Reports Selling 29,691 Commercial Vehicles in May 2024

Tata Motors disclosed its May 2024 sales numbers. The brand's total commercial vehicle sales rose 2.00%, reaching 29,691 units in May 2023 from the previous 28,989 units.

The brand's Passenger Carriers and ILMCV Trucks segments performed well in the previous month. ILMCV Trucks experienced a growth surge of 30.00%, surpassing the 22% growth of passenger carriers and emerging as the top performers.

Tata Motors, a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, revealed its sales numbers for May 2024. The company experienced a 3.00% increase in domestic CV sales. In May 2024, there were 28,476 commercial vehicles (CVs) sold, an increase from 27,570 units sold in May 2023.

Conversely, the overall sales of CVs saw a growth of 2.00%. Sales in this category increased from 28,989 in May 2023 to 29,691 in May 2024.

ILMCV Category (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles)

The sales of Tata Motors' ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles) segment recorded a major 30.00% increase in May 2024. The brand had 4,478 sales units in May 2024, compared to 3,450 in May 2023.

Passenger Carriers (PC) Category

The brand's Passenger Carrier section has become a constant gainer. Tata Motors sold 4,737 passenger carrier units in May 2024, compared to 3,874 in May 2023. As a result, the sales numbers surged by 22.00%.

SCV Cargo and Pickup

Tata has a good market share in the small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup segment. Furthermore, the brand experienced a 6% sales loss in May 2024. In May 2023, the brand sold 12,086 units of SCV and Pickup, which decreased to 11,337 units in May 2024.

CV Exports

The brand's export sales performance also decreased. The brand sold 1,419 units of CV in May 2023, which declined to 1,215 units in May 2024. As a result, its sales decreased by 14.00% this month.
