Ashok Leyland October Domestic Sales Rise 13% At 10,043 Units

The company said domestic commercial vehicle volumes showed significant improvement in the last month, because of good freight availability, better freight rates and pick-up in construction activities.

Ashok Leyland on Monday reported a 13% increase in domestic sales at 10,043 vehicles in October as against 8,885 units in the same month last year. Domestic commercial vehicle sales improved significantly in the last month due to better availability of freight, better freight rates and pick-up in construction activities. 

Medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales in the domestic market were raised 35% to 5,254 units last month as against 3,881 units in the year-ago period. The company said in a statement that in October 2021, sales of light commercial vehicles stood at 4,789 units, as against 5,004 units in the same month last year.
